Meet Anna Liljenroth, Senior LCA Specialist at BIMobject.
Anna, what shaped your path in sustainability?
- As an engineer I am trained in problem solving and often use calculations as a means to get to the solution. Discussions on a more high level without having figures as support have never been my cup of tea. This trait in combination with a big interest in sustainability led me into the field of sustainability assessments and more specifically into the field of life cycle assessment. To be able to turn inventory data into graspable results as well as teaching companies about reduction measures in their business and thereby making a real impact within the industry is what motivates me the most.
What’s your approach to advancing LCA and EPD development?
- Legal requirements and an ever increasing interest in the field of sustainability puts pressure on making LCA calculations and publish EPDs at speed. The calculations need to be accomplished without sacrificing the quality of them. This makes it inevitable to speed up the more manual process that has been the norm before. At EandoX we help you as a company to streamline the process of LCA and EPD development without having to make the methodological decisions yourself, they are already built in, which gives you the possibility to focus on the most important part, to get the data right.

What excites you most about your work today?
- What excites me most about my work is being part of a team that’s using technology to make sustainability decisions easier and more effective. I love seeing how LCA can uncover opportunities for real environmental improvement, helping people make more informed and responsible choices. I’m still learning every day, and that constant growth keeps me motivated and inspired.
What do you think will define the next chapter for LCAs?
- I think the next chapter for LCAs will be shaped by AI, making it much easier to gather and verify product data while keeping everything accurate. This will let people explore environmental impacts more quickly and clearly, and help turn complex LCA results into insights that anyone can understand and use to make better decisions.

Srikanth, what drew you into the field of Life Cycle Assessment?
- As an architect, I always cared about how buildings affect people and the planet. But when I started exploring LCA, I realized it’s a way to truly quantify that impact. It gives us the tools to make better design choices that are backed by data, not just intuition.
Where do you see LCA making the biggest difference in the future?
- In scaling sustainable design. If we can integrate LCA seamlessly into everyday decisions not as a side task, but as part of the design and construction workflow, then we can really shift the industry towards a lower-carbon future.
